Virtual Tradeshow
For anyone who has never heard of a virtual tradeshow, they are about to find out what all the fuss is about. For tradeshows, this is the most amazing and most effective trend going. However, currently only about 1% of all tradeshows are done with virtual technology. Even so, as word spreads about the versatility, experts now say that within the next six years, the numbers will increase to about 25%. The great thing is that tradeshows like this work for businesses of all sizes and industries.
A virtual tradeshow is not complicated but it is powerful. Instead of booths for different companies being spread out in a large building, the virtual option involves numerous pages, each being a virtual booth for the person putting his or her product/service on display. Along with the pages would be instant messaging capability so people interested in more information or buying would have a means of communicating with the exhibitor. Best of all, instant messaging allows all communication to be done in real time so there are no delays.
The truth is that to create the best virtual tradeshow possible, a person would need a good computer, one with high-speed connection to the Internet, great video and audio ability, high memory, and so on. This way, the tradeshow can be set up with the latest and greatest technology. The more a person an impress a potential buyer the better chance of closing deals. Therefore, anyone interested in using a virtual tradeshow should start with the right computer. Some of the other benefits associated with a virtual tradeshow include:
- Budget - Obviously, cutting out the cost of travel to a conventional type of trade show, not spending money on display tables, cases, signage, and other equipment needed, and not paying for space is a huge benefit. With a virtual tradeshow, there is no need to pay for a hotel, food, car rental, and so on. Everything is done online, making this a huge cost-saving option.
- Larger Marketing - With a conventional trade show, the amount of people that can be reached is limited to the people who attend. However, by using the Internet for a virtual tradeshow, literally millions of people can be reached around the world. Obviously, the more people that hear about a company's products and/or services the more that company is going to sell.
- Niche Markets - In addition to reaching more people with a virtual tradeshow, the people being targeted would be only those that would be interested in what is being sold. In other words, rather than just contacting everyone, niche markets could be identified and then targeted. Again, this strategy improves the chance to close deals.
- New Ideas - Many people have great business ideas but due to the high cost of marketing and advertising, they put the idea on hold. For small businesses and entrepreneurs, there is simply no extra money to invest in a conventional tradeshow. However, if a virtual tradeshow were used for the new idea, that person would be able to see if the public had any interest but without spending much money.
- Leads - With a conventional tradeshow, 80% of all leads never get followed up on, which means lost opportunities. However, with a virtual tradeshow, a tremendous amount of data could be gathered, providing leads that would be easy to follow because of email and instant messaging.
